This socket was specifically designed for engines with recessed spark plugs that may be to deep for normal sockets to reach.

BMW and MINI Engines seem to be some of the most difficult when it comes to getting the spark plugs out of their recessed holes. This tool simplifies things, by being extra long to reach the plug and by having a rubber insert that catches the tip of the plug so that it will not fall when removing the old or installing the new.
