A common cooling system failure on all the new generation BMW and MINI Coopers occurs when the head of the plastic bleeder screw breaks off. These plastic bleeders are located at the top of most radiators and many of the newer generation quick disconnect upper radiator hoses. This failure will occur when the plastic bleeder plug gets brittle due to years of repeated heat cycling. The plastic bleeder will typically crack under the screw head, causing a slight leak or in some cases total coolant lose. The BMP design brass bleeder screws will eliminate this problem. When replacing coolant hoses we recommend purchasing extra brass bleeders as direct replacements prior to installation.
