You may not be aware that the passenger compartment of your MINI has an air filtration system and a replaceable electrostatic filter element similar to your home air conditioning system. As you operate the A/C or blower control, the system filters out the dust and odors from your MINI�s interior. Changing the filter element on an annual basis is a must. Dirty filters are not effective and can cause restriction to the A/C blower output. The types of particles that are collected include: dust, pollen, mold spores and any other airborne particles. The carbon cabin filters also help remove pet odors, cigarette smoke, and other odors. Failing to replace the filter not only reduces the efficiency of the system, but also allows the growth of bacteria from the buildup of these contaminants.
