The PROMINI Powerflex bushings are the perfect upgrade to your MINI. To improve handling, you will want to replace the factory rubber suspension bushings with the Powerflex urethane bushing replacements. The special durometer urethane will reduce the suspension flex, giving your MINI a more positive feel in the corners. Hard cornering will distort the factory rubber bushings, which changes your suspension geometry and alignment. Add a set of Powerflex bushing and feel the difference. The engine mount stiffeners by Powerflex are another great add-on, especially if you have increased the engine performance. High horse power engines will cause a condition in front wheel drive vehicles called Torque steer. This condition is when the natural torque of the engine forces the engine and suspension bushings to distort under load. This distortion will cause the vehicle to dart or pull in various directions as vehicle weight shifts. The chart below offers the bushing in three categories, front suspension, rear suspension, and engine torque control. Please remember that all the front suspension bushings are involved in the torque steer dilemma. The engine mount stiffeners are designed to press into the hollow voids of the factory engine mounts. This design offers the smooth operation of the factory mounts with the added stiffness under load of a urethane mount.
